“global loves local” graduate symposium poster

a collaborative poster to commemorate a graduate symposium investigating the role of graphic design in global/local economies and cultures. the design process allowed exploration of the distinction between global and local visual languages through the relationships among craft, local process, technology, and globally available production tools. custom modular typography was digitally created, then laser cut onto wooden printing blocks and printed on a hand-cranked letterpress. this combination of global technology and localized process allowed for the creation of a unique visual expression. undertaken with jon harris.
