the original idea was to create a very sturdy and easy-to-cut stencil face. i'm trying to keep all the lines straight and the forms as simple as possible. i'm sure they can simplify even more, but it's only three hours old right now. maybe after i give it a bottle and change its diapers, i can make refinements.
then the idea got merged with another idea i've had for a while now, where family variations take the form of varying line thickness. this creates an optical gray tone and lighter appearance, rather than thinning the actual form. when you add color and overlap forms, it gets kind of interesting.
